Celebrity Diary with Pippa O'Connor: I haven't been to the gym since I got married
I recently filmed an episode of The Restaurant and although I really enjoyed it it was much harder than I thought it would be.
Even just being in a professional kitchen was quite scary to be honest - the chefs aren't performing for the cameras, it's a real working restaurant.
I was slagging the shoes they gave me at the start of the day because they were these horrible, clog-style things, but I have to say I was delighted to have them by the end of the day because they were so comfy.
I love food but, to be honest, I prefer eating it than cooking.
While I'm not too bad in the kitchen, I grew up with amazing chefs around me and I wish I appreciated it more at the time and had learnt a few more things.
I'm lucky that I don't have to watch my weight at all - I haven't been in the gym since before I got married, I did yoga when I was pregnant and that's about it.
I'd love to be a bit fitter, but I just don't think I'm that kind of person - although running around after my son Ollie certainly keeps me on my toes
‘I don’t really get that nervous speaking in front of crowds now’
Well that was one busy week! As you all know, one of my favourite things in the world is fashion. So I’m delighted The Dublin Fashion Festival is on this week, as there are so many great events on.
I’ve been trying to make it to as many shows as possible – I’ve spent the week glued to my phone, flicking away on Snapchat and Twitter to make sure I don’t miss out on anything.
It’s not quite the same as being there, but as I’m such a social media addict I know everything that’s going on, so sometimes it feels like I’m actually there even when I can’t make it.
Tonight, I’ll be more than just a spectator. I’m hosting the festival’s Creative Quarter Fashion Show in the Powerscourt Townhouse – I’m very excited to get on stage.
If anyone would have asked me a year ago to get up there and talk to such a massive crowd I definitely wouldn’t have been so confident, but the past 12 months have really been a boost for me.
It’s one thing being a model in front of the camera, but to walk into a room with hundreds of people that are there to watch you, it can be very overwhelming and daunting.
I’ve been touring the country doing my fashion factories and they have really helped me feel more confident when it comes to speaking in front of people, so I don’t really get nervous now.
So all there is to do is the important task of choosing what to wear.
'I love clothes but I'm useless at altering them'
As much as I love fashion and adore clothes, I have to confess I’m useless when it comes to sewing or doing alterations myself.
I can put outfits together, but I’m not creative when it comes to things like that – I really wish I was though.
I’m so jealous of people who can – and I couldn’t believe the talent at the Young Designer of the Year competition this week.
I honestly thought the winner – Katie Donohue (right) – was amazing.
We have such talent here in Ireland when it comes to design and there are some amazing milliners here as well – one of my favourites is Jennifer Wrynne.
I get a lot of my style inspiration from social media. As I mentioned earlier, I’m like a woman possessed when it comes to my phone.
I just can’t seem to be able to switch off.
I’m forever replying to my emails and messages, even at all hours of the night.
When you’re self employed, like me, I think it can be hard to take a step back sometimes.
