Dynamic duo Steven and Tom have formed a box office partnership and over the years have made critically-acclaimed Saving Private Ryan as well as World War II mini-series Band of Brothers and The Pacific together.

Their next adventure sees them bring a Cold War thriller, currently untitled, to the silver screen for Dreamworks - and Eve is one of a stellar cast signing up to get involved.

The Killiney native is expected to join 58-year-old Apollo 13 actor Tom Hanks and his female lead Amy Ryan from The Wire on set in September, when shooting for the film gets underway in New York and Berlin.

Alan Alda and Billy Magnussen, from Boardwalk Empire, are also in talks to come on board.

The film, scheduled for release in October 2015, will be based on the true story of CIA attorney James Donovan, played by father-of-four Tom, an attorney who finds himself in the middle of the Cold War when the CIA sends him to negotiate the release of American U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers after he is shot down over Soviet airspace.

Amy Ryan will play Donovan's wife.

It has yet to be revealed what character Eve would play.

The Dubliner, who is based in the US after going to university there, made her movie debut in The 27 Club.

Since then she has featured in This Must Be the Place with Sean Penn, and most recently, Enough Said with the late James Gandolfini. She will next be seen playing a nurse in the Steven Soderbergh miniseries The Knick, opposite Clive Owen.
