Bob Geldof to marry in same church as Paula and Peaches' funerals
Boomtown Rat Bob Geldof is set to marry his partner Jeanne Marine in the coming months, according to reports.
The musician will say ‘I Do’ to his French girlfriend in the same church where funerals for his late wife and daughter were held.
It is believed that Bob (63) and Jeanne (49) will say their vows at a low-key ceremony in the St Mary Magdalene & St Lawrence Church in Faversham, Kent.
Bob and actress Jeanne have been together since 1996, a year after he split from tragic TV presenter Paula Yates.
Bob and Paula had married in the church in 1989, after initially getting hitched in Las Vegas earlier that year.
Mum-of-four Paula died from a heroin overdose in 2000.
Bob and Jeanne’s nuptials will come weeks after the Geldof family marks the one-year anniversary of his daughter Peaches’ death.
The 25-year-old was found dead from a heroin overdose at her home on April 7, 2014.
In 2012, the journalist and former wild child married singer Thomas Cohen in the church.
Bob and Paula’s eldest Fifi Trixibelle (32) is also believed to be getting married to her fiance Andrew Robertson in the chapel in the coming weeks.
It is believed Bob and Jeanne picked the church deliberately because of its significance to the family in the past.
The Live Aid founder is said to have asked the wedding ceremony be conducted by the Rev Tracey Bateson, who also led Peaches’ funeral service last April.
Actress Jeanne met Geldof at a Paris dinner party, where the singer had fled in a fit of depression over his divorce from Paula Yates.
“I liked his elegance and his Irishness,” she later said.
“Bob is exactly the kind of man I’ve always been waiting for.”
