Benedict Cumberbatch's wife Sophie to direct at Beckett fest
Benedict Cumberbatch's actress wife Sophie Hunter (inset) will come to Ireland this summer to direct a performance at the Happy Days: International Beckett Festival.
The festival is held in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, which has become renowned for its association with Samuel Beckett, who attended the Portora Royal School there.
Sophie, who married the Sherlock star on Valentine's Day, will be directing a new production of Benjamin Britten's last vocal work Phaedra, as the Greek tragedy is known to have inspired Beckett.
The work will be presented in the spectacular setting of Necarne Equestrian Centre at the ruined Necarne Castle on July 31 and August 1.
