Fashion designer Zoe Jordan certainly has a lot of drive as her new collection reveals.

Dublin-born Zoe has drawn on inspiration from all those years hanging around the Formula One racing pits.

The daughter of former racing boss Eddie has been taking the fashion world by storm over the past few years.

And her new 'Chicane' collection, which went on sale at a pop up at Havana in Dublin's Donnybrook last night, was influenced by what she saw with her dad Eddie on the motor racing circuit.

"It didn't take me too long to find sources of inspiration with the old racing overalls in the garage, helmets and old team jumpers.

"It was a really good starting point, a fun trip down memory lane," said Zoe, who is married and mum to two young daughters.

"The formative years, between eight and 12 years of age, we would have a lot of racing drivers board with us so it wasn't just dad's job, it was a way of life for all us."

Zoe recalled how Johnny Herbert "used to do our hair and put bows in it".

"Jean Alesi was another favourite, a very generous man and we were really fond of Andrea de Cesaris who sadly passed away this month."

She loved the cashmeres and pieces with cut outs on shoulders and elbows, but her favourite piece is her biker jacket in cracked silver.

"It's a great colour, not too shiny and the more you wear it, the better it looks," she said of the jacket.

The glamorous blonde looked very stylish in her jacket, which she paired with dark trousers for the much anticipated event.

She had her first shows at New York fashion week recently and received a very positive reaction.

She studied architecture, but her love for clothing prevailed, and she has her own label - Zoe Jordan.

At London Fashion Week her signature work was described as: "The coming together of the androgynous and the feminine, handsome and ethereal, structured and languid.

"Essentially Zoe Jordan represents feminine swagger and a boyish insouciance," the fashion week's website said.

Racing

As well as drawing from a childhood immersed in the world of motor racing, Zoe also travelling across the globe.

She has also lived in New York, Andalucia and Hong Kong, and London where her studio is in immersed in the heart of fashionable Chelsea.

She has become a firm favourite for her focus on "clean lines, fresh palettes and boyish elegance".

Zoe is one of four children, and each of them have inherited their parents' ambitious drive.

Two years ago Eddie received an honorary OBE in recognition for his services to charity and to motor racing.

One of Formula 1's most charismatic personalities, he was also inducted into the Irish motorsport hall of fame.
