Westlife are the latest celebrities to weigh in behind The X Factor's controversial Grimes twins.
Singer Nicky Byrne has revealed that he's 100pc behind the Lucan boys. This week saw the Dublin pin-up step out with fellow chart-toppers Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Shane Filan for the first time since his beloved dad Nikki suddenly passed away a fortnight ago.
But despite his recent loss, it was back to business for the blond crooner after he was asked for his opinion on Jedward.
"We hope they win it, we think they're great," he told the Herald.
Fragrance
Nicky was at the Four Seasons Hotel for the launch of Westlife's new scent, ironically called 'X', where he spoke about his fondness for the quiff-haired twins.
After meeting and greeting fans in the Dublin 4 hotel, he and his fellow bandmates headed in to Brown Thomas on Grafton Street to turn on the Christmas lights.
Although X is the band's first fragrance, it's especially for their female fans as they test the waters before deciding whether to bring out an aftershave.
Nicky, who's married to Bertie Ahern's daughter Georgina, explained how they were prompted into bringing it out after being constantly pestered about which was their favourite fragrance.
"We thought it best to start with a perfume and see how it goes. Obviously, we would love to do an aftershave as we would then wear it ourselves but that's further down the line," he explained.
And he confirmed that he road-tested the perfume on Georgina, with whom he has two twin boys Rocco and Jay (2). "She loves it, all the girls gave it their seal of approval," he said.
This has been one of Westlife's toughest years, given that Kian lost his father Kevin to cancer last July, followed by the recent death of Nicky's dad.
It has now emerged that the bandmates will pay a special tribute to their late fathers with pictures of them featuring strongly on the inside cover of their new album.
The four lads look set to score another number one with their new single What About Now, and will take to the stage in the O2 arena this evening for the annual Cheerios Childline concert where they'll join fellow performers including Alexandra Burke, JLS, Cascada, The Saturdays and Boulevard.
