Walking out of the stores, the celeb jeans with a hefty €320 price tag

They're the "it" jeans causing a fashion frenzy among celebrities.

Super stylish, comfortable and very cool, the much-hyped J Brand Houlihans are the 'it' item of clothing of autumn winter wardrobes -- so it's no surprise every female celebrity on the planet worth talking about has already been snapped sporting a pair.

Since their introduction in January this year, sales of the skinny cargo pants have sky-rocketed and they now dominate the designer trousers market, spawning countless cheaper knock-offs.

And Dublin fashionistas, including Claudine Keane and Xpose reporter Glenda Gilson, are already huge fans of the €320 trendy trousers.

The sexy, revamped cargo pants have graced the lower limbs of many a Hollywood diva, and with their ability to enhance every curve and lengthen your legs it's easy to see why.

X Factor star Cheryl Cole was among the first famous fashion icons to squeeze her tiny derriere into the super- skinny cropped pants, but she's not the only well- known fan.

Jessica Alba, Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, Hilary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens, Dakota Fanning, Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried are just some of the Hollywood beauties spotted in the much-loved trousers.

And it's not just the big screen sirens that have fallen head over heels for them -- Rihanna, Fergie and yummy-mummy Gwen Stefani have also been spotted dressing theirs up with some killer stilettos.

Secret

They might have a few extra pockets but these sleek combats are nothing like the sloppy styled ones brought back into fashion 10 years ago by former pop group All Saints.

The Houlihan gives us the skinny on the cargo, in tailored trimmed down version making them the perfect alternative to basic denims.

According to experts, the secret to the success is all down to J Brand cutting out the bagginess, lowering the waistline and tapering the legs by adding a zippered ankle.

They are available from BT2 in Dundrum in a wide variety of colours and styles, from low rise to mid rise, khaki, olive green, navy, camel and black.

At €320 a pop, the surprisingly flattering trousers are well worth saving up for, according to fashion experts.

Shelly Corkery, fashion director of the Brown Thomas Group told the Herald: "The J Brand Houlihans have been a runaway success since they hit the shelves in BT2.

"Available in an array of key colours, they make an ideal alternative to jeans and can be dressed up or down, making them perfect for day and night."
