But the dedicated presenter insisted that she had no plans to take a back seat career-wise as she awaits her new arrival.
"I'm absolutely flying it, everything's going great so far," she said.
The former RTE personality filled in for fellow presenter Anna Daly (33) after she went on maternity leave for her first baby last year -- with bubbly Laura explaining how we haven't seen the last of her on the early morning show couch.
"I'm going back in for another stint on the show in the week before Christmas so I'm looking forward to that. It's great to keep my hand in there," she continued.
She has also set up a company with fellow presenter Brian Ormond called Corporate Profiles, which helps firms make promotional videos.
It was baby boom central at Hamleys toy store in Dundrum over the weekend as hordes of celebs headed out to the store with their little ones for a meet-and-greet with a yuletide VIP.
RTE presenter Baz Ashmawy (36), who welcomed in baby girl Mahy with partner Tanya Evans last September, was among the guests.
He brought out his adorable tutu-wearing daughter Hannah (2) to meet Santa Claus and indulge in some of the face painting and kids games in the Christmas grotto.
The latest baby made it child number six for his partner Tanya.Baz said they're coping well despite all the madness.
"It's not like they come with a manual so with the first baby, you're panicking over everything, like if they're breathing funny whereas with the second one, you're a little more relaxed," he said.
He also predicted that Christmas in their Rathmines house will be "mayhem" but that he was looking forward to it all.
Last summer saw him and co-presenter Lucy Kennedy wrapping up their 2fm weekend show. Since then he is concentrating on spending time with his growing family.
But Baz said he's hoping to look at some new RTE projects in the new year as he continues to enjoy his parenting leave.
Also spotted enjoying all the Christmas fun with hubbie Ben and son James was TV3's Anna Daly, who's having her second baby at the end of March. She explained how she's determined to keep working for as long as she can with the station.
The blonde beauty, who was recently flown to Monaco to interview Lionel Richie, has spread her wings recently to branch out with her Breakfast With Anna show.
Next week an excited Anna will welcome rugby hero Rob Kearney to the show, something which the expectant mum is very excited about.
