THE party crew will be heading to Krystle nightclub tonight for the VIP haunt's sixth birthday bash. The red carpet will be rolled out at the Harcourt Street venue for the event -- and they have already confirmed there's a free bar for attendees.

Last year saw owners splashing out a cool €20,000 on complimentary hooch for Dublin's party people as they marked their fifth birthday, with a similar amount expected to be blown on festivities tonight.

•Well done to young Ciaran Elliott, who was announced as the winner of the Euro-taques Young Chef of the Year competition.

The event to announce his win took place at Smock Alley Theatre and was attended by the great and the good, including Norah Casey, Catherine Fulvio, Domini Kemp, Rozanna Stevens and Georgina Campbell.

•Ocean Colour Scene have just announced details of a third Dublin date at the Academy in Dublin.

The Birmingham lads will be performing here next spring with the extra date of February 17.

Meanwhile, tickets to see Bruce Springsteen will go on sale shortly.

•The world premiere of the James Joyce classic The Dead will take place at the Abbey Theatre next month.

A select number of invited guests will be heading to the northside venue on December 11 to check out the latest offering from the theatre.
