Expect to see far more of West Wing star Martin Sheen hanging around these parts this summer.
The acclaimed actor, who has Irish roots, is gearing up to take centre stage in Stella Days which tells the story of the man who first brought cinema to Ireland in the 1950s.
And Martin said he couldn't wait to get his teeth stuck into the juicy role. "As we speak I'm unemployed but most actors these days are," the star explained.
"But there is an Irish director and producer, Jackie Larkin, who talked to me some time ago and, in fact, we met up in February in London to discuss this film called Stella Days. It's a story from a book about a guy who was a canon in my mother's home village of Borrisokane, who established the first cinema in the town.
"He was an extraordinary man. He loved cinema, so this is his story and they want me to play him, so I'm delighted and there's talk of getting it done this summer," he said.
The US girlband look set to cause a stir when they hit the stage at Fitzgerald Stadium as part of the Killarney Summerfest festival. The 'Don't Cha' stars, led by sultry beauty Nicole Scherzinger, will be blasting out all their best-known hits for their fans on July 18 when they make their Kerry debut.
The gang are currently enjoying massive chart success with the catchy ditty 'Jai Ho!', which was a track taken from the Hollywood blockbuster Slumdog Millionaire.
The northside cinema will form the venue for a VIP showing of the new offering Jonas Brothers: The 3D concert experience.
Clearly a must-see for those who weren't content with just seeing the corny stars in a one-dimensional setting, the bash will start with a pre-film reception.
