Good to see Liam McCormack has been keeping himself busy and out of mischief after quitting RTE's TTV a few months ago. Not one to rest on his laurels, he has thrown himself into his music after his popular programme was unceremoniously replaced by Dara Quilty's Two Tube.
He revealed to the Diary how he nabbed a gig in the Sugar Club over the weekend, with his music ensemble Pump Up The Jam, under his alias Daddy Mc.
"I was MC-ing the whole night and it was all about an '80s and '90s revival. We had a very eclectic mixture of music, everything from the Prodigy to S'Express. That was our first time doing the Sugar Club but we're hoping it will become a regular thing, we got a great reaction to it," he said.
And he insists he has been keeping his fingers in many pies since his career changed direction. "I'm doing a few bits and pieces for this political satire called Frontline and I've got a new DJ programme on RTE's 2XM so there's lots happening at the moment."

They will be sitting down to an early lunch followed by the official unveiling of the swish assortment of shiny boy toys.
Guests will be gathering at the upmarket Stephen's Green Hibernian Club on November 17 as they raise a glass to the legendary former jockey on the release of his book Method in my Madness: 10 Years Out Of the Saddle.
Hailed as the ultimate insider's guide to the highly competitive industry, it's being tipped as one to watch on the best-sellers list this Christmas.
But Cole, now a judge on the pop series, managed to hold on to the number one slot in the album chart.
