CELEBRITY style guru Gok Wan has singled out Andrea Corr as a style icon and the Irish celebrity whose look he most admires.
"Andrea is very sweet. She's got that archetypal look," he said, while visiting Dublin yesterday.
The bubbly stylist says he likes Andrea's raven-like black hair and her Celtic look.
"You know she's Irish before she's spoke or sung," he added.
However, Ms Corr isn't the only Irish girl Gok has eyed out, as he says all Irish women have amazing assets.
He says our Celtic roots make us rival the likes of Finnish girls, one of the most beautiful groups in the world.
"You've got amazing skin -- it must be the lack of sun -- and amazing bone structure," he says.
"I don't know if it's a gaelic thing ... it's important because your face has got to almost mimic the frame of the page."
Gok says the dismal Irish weather can be blessed for giving us great skin.
"You're not basking in the sun," and so Irish women stay younger for longer, he says.
While Gok says Irish women are very good at dressing up during the day, he insists that we need to work on a unique style.
"There isn't a specific Irish look," he says.
However he conceded that Irish girls are restricted because of bad weather.
"You have to dress for your climate. You have about two days of summer here!"
However, the fashion expert says Irish girls have lots to choose from in the fashion world.
"You've got the best fashion at this side of the world with the highest disposable income so you should be splashing out."
"I'm gonna talk to your government," the tongue-in-cheek guru said, "you need to bring up the fashion industry here."
"Don't be afraid to think outside the box," he advises.
In any of the big cities like Paris and Milan you get the trendsetters, the people who put themselves out there and express themselves."
Gok, who is much loved by women across Ireland and the UK said he intends to do some work in Ireland in the future.
"I will be back," said the fashion expert who admitted he never knew he had such a big fanbase in Ireland.
"I would definitely consider doing an Irish show. We've never had an Irish contributor. We get a lot of applications from Ireland."
