Single-girl Kathryn laps up the sun on Costa hols

It was New Year, new start, for newly single Kathryn Thomas, who is having fun on a girls-only holiday.

The RTE presenter, who is single again at the age of 34, was looking far from heartbroken as she enjoyed some cocktails with the girls during the sun-kissed holiday in Spain.

The Carlow native is holidaying with her sister Linda and close pal Mary Kay Sheehy in Spain, where they have rented a villa.

Showing off her slim figure in a navy and red bikini, Kathryn was all smiles as she posed for holiday snaps and showed no sign of heartache following her split with boyfriend of five years, Enda Waters.

She rang in the New Year holding a cocktail as she laughed and joked along with the girls.

Kathryn and Garda Enda parted ways in July.

The Beatles started a revolution back in the USSR

If ever a band has been well served by the literary world it's The Beatles. Practically every aspect of that revolutionary body of work has been dealt with in book form... or so one would have thought. From Hunter Davies' The Beatles, through Philip Norman's Shout, Bob Spitz's humongously detailed history and Ian McDonald's brilliant Revolution in the Head, which offered a musical and contextual analysis of every song they ever recorded, surely there's nothing left of interest to diehard fans of the Fabs. Well, think again.
