Former B*Witched star Sinead O'Carroll has spoken for the first time about the joys of motherhood and how her new arrival helped heal a rift with her former bandmates.

She revealed to the Diary how her little baby Samarah even prompted a reunion with ex-B*Witched star Lindsay Armaou.

The stunning TV3 presenter said having her four-week old baby Samarah is like a "dream come true".

"It's like she's always been here, I just can't imagine my life without her," she explained.

She's now knee-deep in nappies and midnight feeds as she gets to grip with her new role -- but says she wouldn't swap it for the world.

Support

But she's thankful that she has so much support from her PR hubbie Mike Rahman and her tight-knit family -- given the stressful post-natal period.

"I went into hospital at about 5am on Saturday and she was delivered at 10.48pm that night in Mount Carmel hospital. She needed a little help in the end, I think it's because I have such a small frame but the staff there were just brilliant," she continued.

Yet she found having a new infant to care for a little bit of a shock to her system. "Everyone focuses on the whole labour part of pregnancy but I found recovering afterwards quite hard. It's mad how it takes a while to feel normal again, you're completely exhausted and I just felt very uncomfortable," she explained.

"I'm getting there slowly though, it just takes a bit of time and she is like a little dream."

The couple have also been approached by a string of glossy magazines eager to get the first pics of their new arrival. But they have rejected all the offers, saying that the timing just isn't right for them. And thanks to Samarah, Sinead also recently reunited with former band mate Lindsay who flew over from London especially to see the tiny tot.

B*Witched star Adele and Keavy Lynch -- who had a spat with the singer -- also passed on their best wishes and Sinead's now back on speaking terms with them.

She now reckons that her new arrival could even follow in her showbiz footsteps.

"She's got a great pair of vocal cords on her, she can really scream her head off," she laughed.

Content

"She's quiet enough though, she actually sleeps more in the night-time than during the day which is great. She's a very content baby."

However, when it came to passing on the O'Carroll genes, Sinead reckons there's no resemblance and she takes after her hubbie all the way.

"She's the image of Michael, she really is. I didn't get a look in," she added.

Sinead is now focusing on her new baby while she adjusts to motherhood and says she'll take at least a few months off before starting her next project.

"I'm working on a few new programme ideas and have a few things that have been in the pipeline for a while but I really just want to spend time with Samarah and get to know her," she explained.

Sinead hit the small screens earlier this year with her first solo presenting gig on TV3. Called Inside & Out, the make-over show met with a huge response from viewers and Sinead said she would love to do more similar projects.
