Sile makes an arresting sight on night out with garda rugby player

BROADCASTER Sile Seoige (33) appears to be following in the footsteps of her older sister Grainne after lining out with a rugby player.

The Newstalk broadcaster was looking very cosy with a member of the Garda Rugby Team last weekend after joining them on a night out on the town.

The newly-single star was seen letting her hair down with an evening on the tiles as she tackled one of the arresting members of the team as they enjoyed a pre-Christmas bash.

"She was in good form and just enjoying a well-earned night out. She seemed particularly taken with one of the guys on the team and it's fair to say they definitely hit it off. Having said that, Sile has been single for nearly five months so is entitled to do what she wants on a night out," said a source.

Her sister Grainne has been stepping out with handsome South African coach Leon Jordaan for the past two years as they continue enjoying their romance -- and it seems that Sile also has a soft spot for rugby players.

The gorgeous gaelgoir, who presents weekend radio show Shenanigans, recently confirmed that she had parted with her TV producer boyfriend Kim Burrows, whom she had been dating since 2009. The couple decided to go their separate ways last summer and gorgeous Sile said she's in "good form" now, having overcome a tough year.

Last February, she revealed how she had been fighting a private battle against thyroid cancer which resulted in her having to undergo surgery to have the gland removed.

The brave star spent six months battling the illness, including a week in an isolation ward in the Blackrock Clinic where she was dosed with radioactive iodine.

"What I will say is, thank God for health insurance. There was a period I was saying 'will I or won't I' and I'm very glad I kept it up because if I hadn't, things would have been very different," she said.

"I am on medication for the rest of my life, and while I'm back at work and love it, it will take some time before I'm fully recovered."

She added: "It has been a bizarre blessing because it makes you realise what is really important in life -- my relationships with my boyfriend and family and friends. And my colleagues at work have been just so good. Newstalk has been so incredibly supportive from day one. It was just a great feeling to have that kind of support."

Paying tribute to her former partner, she described him as a tower of strength throughout the entire ordeal, saying how he had been "absolutely brilliant" along with her sister Grainne and her whole family.

She was previously married to production manager Glen Mulcahy but they split in 2009, three years after they got hitched.
