Ronan Keating has undergone a drastic image change and is sporting a new comb-over hairdo.
The Boyzone singer shocked onlookers when performing on stage with Tom Jones at the 250th Guinness anniversary celebrations and his makeover has received mixed reactions from Ireland's style elite.
Celebrity hairdresser and entrepreneur Paul Hession said he thinks this is marking of the start of a new trend.
"It's a very stylised image, it's taking away from the alternative style at the moment.
"There's a lot of moppy hair and fringes on men now, but he is steering away from that, looking very groomed and polished," he said.
"He's certainly ahead of his game here. Only a select group of people could pull off this look, and he looks fantastic.
"There are a lot more tight skinny jeans and finely cut suits out there now, it only makes sense that the trend would follow through to hair.
"This is the new and improved Ronan, the boy look is now gone and he's really coming out of his own."
Stunt
"Without a doubt, this will be the start of a new trend," he said.
Fans of the singer have seen him transform throughout the years from clean-cut boyband member to a funkier solo singer.
Style guru Adrian Copeland, of Louis Copeland menswear, said that his look may just be a publicity stunt.
"Dare I say it, it looks like he's balding and is using a comb-over to hide it. He's lucky because he has a very good head of hair, but to me, this seems to just be a fad."
"He's just trying to change his image and get a reaction by making a fashion statement with his hair.
"Ronan seems to be trying to kickstart a conversation about him, but luckily for him he has a good head of hair and can pull it off still.
"He's like David Beckham in that sense, always changing his style. It seems to be a little bit of fun and frivolity."
For his Guinness Storehouse performance, Ronan completed his look with a V-neck white T-shirt and black blazer, with a black stud earring as the finishing touch.
