RDS hosts the Toys 4 Big Boys expo next month

- GADGET lovers are expected to be out in force for this year's Toys 4 Big Boys expo in the RDS next month.

Among the highlights this year will include the Becks Vier Live Stage, which will showcase up-and-coming young rock musicians and bands who have just been signed, The Irish Youth Music Awards and the 300 sqm motoring pavilion where you can drool over some of the hottest cars and bikes.

This year's event is taking place from November 11 to 14 and will also for the first time take place in Cork from November 19 to 21.

- IT was a weekend of non-stop partying as Lillie's Bordello celebrated the Bank Holiday with a glam packed guest list.

The highlight was Sunday night as celebrities flocked to the Grafton Street club for The Pink and Black Affair.

DJ Ivano Cafolla and the Rococo crew organised the glittering bash to raise funds for the Irish Cancer society.

Guests including fashion queen Virginia Macari, Black Tie boss Niall O'Farrell and socialites Richie Kavanagh and PJ Gibbons dolled themselves up in their very best pink and black.

The city-centre hotspot is getting ready for four nights of Halloween Madness from Thursday.

- A number of fashionistas have been invited to attend the opening of the New Look flagship store in Dublin next month.

VIPs including the Xpose ladies are expected to attend the unveiling of the new store on Thursday, November 4 in the Jervis Shopping Centre.

Guests will enjoy a 50pc VIP discount, a champagne reception as well as a sneak peek of the high street brand's top autumn/winter trends in a fashion show.

- The great and good of Dublin's social scene donned their gladrags for the recent Chello Foundation Ball at the Mansion House.

The annual event, which has become a must-attend on the Dublin social calendar, raised vital funds for the relief of poverty and suffering with a specific remit to provide educational scholarships for AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa.

Entrepreneur Denis O'Brien received the top award, in recognition of his many philanthropic acts, including his efforts to mobilise worldwide support for Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake.
