Caroline Harrington turned out the style with her WAG counterparts at the opening ceremony of the Ryder Cup in Valhalla, Louisville, yesterday.

The wife of Irish golfing hero Padraig was dressed in a suit by Paul Costelloe, who designed a range of outfits for the ladies at the international golfing event.

The blonde mum of two, who met her champion golfer husband when they were both still in their teens in Stackstown, Rathfarnham, wore the linen uniform, teamed with dark shades, as she posed alongside the GWAGs (Golf Wives And Girlfriends).

The European girls are clearly upping their game in a bid to shake off the frumpy image that they've been criticised for in the past. But this time they're taking no chances in not coming top of the style leaderboard.

Having often been compared unfavourably to their US counterparts -- who were noted for their slick tailoring and knee-high boots at the 2006 event -- the European WAGS have revamped their look.

Overhaul

Nick Faldo's former wife, Valerie Bercher, who is leading the way for the girls in the style stakes, has been working closely with Paul Costelloe on the image overhaul.

"I think it's important that all of us have the chance to keep our own sense of individuality, so we worked on a variety of difficult items in our wardrobe so that the girls can mix and match their outfits."
