X Factor twins John and Edward have announced their support for Thierry Henry, despite the French captain cheating Ireland out of the World Cup.
The pair admitted that they didn't actually see the match due to their gruelling rehearsal schedule but spoke of what a "deadly" player they think Henry is.
Edward made the blunder, saying: "Thierry Henry is great at soccer. He is deadly. A great player, such a cool guy.
"We're still up for going to the World Cup. We'd love to go to one of those huge events, like the World Cup or the Olympics."
The twins have been praised by fans since getting the boot from the singing competition, but their latest comments are sure to raise a few eyebrows.
But despite their show of support for Henry, they haven't lost their sense of national pride and said they were looking forward to performing in Dublin.
"We've got The X Factor tour lined up and we're doing four dates in Dublin in the 02. It's so cool to be performing in Ireland. We can't wait to come home and see everybody."
The quiff-haired duo explained that their over-the-top stage antics were down to their peak physical condition from extensive athletics training.
John said: "We run 45 miles a week. We wanted to run the Dublin Marathon last year but we weren't allowed because we were too young."
