One Direction...to the bar! Niall leads London Irish crew on a wild night out

They work hard, and play even harder.

Last night, Ireland's brightest young stars and singers hit the town in their adopted home of London to celebrate the festive season.

The crew consisted of The Voice judge Niall Breslin (32), MTV presenter Laura Whitmore (27), One Direction's Niall Horan (19), The Movie Show's roaming reporter, Angela Scanlon, and The Voice host Eoghan McDermott (28).

Niall Horan couldn't wait to catch up with the Irish contingent and tweeted of his excitement in the run-up to the big night out.

"Off out for Christmas drinks with London's Irish crew!"

And fellow Mullingar man Niall Breslin said it was going to be a night of hard partying.

"God help us all," he said.

Thrilled

The crew were in great form as they danced the night away and downed shots of Patron.

"The craic is mighty," The Voice presenter Eoghan McDermott wrote. "I just licked Laura Whitmore's armpit -- it tasted like roses."

And Eoghan enjoyed a little madcap fun with 1D's Niall. "Niall Horan just licked my nipple," he said. "Can I sell it on eBay?"

Laura Whitmore returned from the jungle earlier this month and seemed thrilled to catch up with her pals.

The 27-year-old model told the Herald she loves spending time talking about Tayto crisps with friends from the 'old country'. "I moved over four-and-a-half years ago and it was just me and my friends. Now there are tons of us," she said. "It is nice to meet up with Irish people and talk about Tayto crisps and Charlie's Chinese take-out."

The blonde star tweeted a picture of Eoghan McDermott wearing a pair of Christmas baubles as earrings.

She posted another photo of herself with Niall Horan along with the caption 'Cougar Town'.

While 19-year-old Niall ducked out earlier, the rest of the crew partied hard into the early hours. The following morning they all seemed to be feeling the effects.

According to The Movie Show presenter Angela Scanlon: "My head hurts and I woke up wearing a woolly hat."

Dreaming

The redhead got a cab home with Laura Whitmore, who woke up dreaming of a kebab. "I want some more of whatever that kebab was last night."

But Bressie seemed to be suffering the most. He woke up in need of some TLC and junk food. "I need a can of Irn Bru and spaghetti hoops, toast, sugar puffs, extra strength nurofen and my dignity back. Damn Christmas party."

But Niall Horan was delighted when his mum, who recently moved to London, treated him to a full fry.

"My ma came down and made me a fry. Soakage -- great craic last night."

The Beatles started a revolution back in the USSR

If ever a band has been well served by the literary world it's The Beatles. Practically every aspect of that revolutionary body of work has been dealt with in book form... or so one would have thought. From Hunter Davies' The Beatles, through Philip Norman's Shout, Bob Spitz's humongously detailed history and Ian McDonald's brilliant Revolution in the Head, which offered a musical and contextual analysis of every song they ever recorded, surely there's nothing left of interest to diehard fans of the Fabs. Well, think again.
