Liam weathers baby storm with surfing visit here
WHAT'S the story Morning Glory ?
Regulars at The Strand Bar in Sligo got a bit of a shock yesterday when Oasis star Liam Gallagher arrived into their midst.
The Manchester born singer had planned to spend the day surfing on nearby Strand Hill beach. However, stormy conditions sent him in search of breakfast in a local pub.
"The waves were pretty big so Liam decided to have the full Irish breakfast with us instead.
"He was very friendly and finished it off with a few pints of Guinness and had a friend for company," Neil Byrne, manager of the Strand Bar, told the Herald.
However, as word got out and more people arrived asking for autographs, the singer fled.
"Liam looked at the crowd and told us it was time to go but posed for a picture outside before he left," added Mr Byrne
Gallagher, whose mother Peggy Sweeney hails from nearby Mayo, later visited another bar as he waited for the weather to change.
Friends say the singer is in Ireland to escape a media storm after allegations he fathered a child, reports which have put his marriage to wife Nicole Appleton on the rocks.
Westlife and US actor Woody Harrelson are among the other famous visitors to have paid a visit to The Strand Bar.
