Leigh puts Dracula blues behind her with birthday bash
ACTRESS Leigh Arnold put her work troubles behind her this weekend when she enjoyed a girly night out with a bunch of pals to celebrate her 31st birthday.
The Diary spotted the former Clinic actress letting her hair down at Lillie's Bordello on Saturday night, having enjoyed a last-minute getaway last week after her much-hyped play Dracula was cancelled four weeks early due to poor ticket sales.
The Foxrock beauty is said to have been left disappointed by the decision to axe the production, which was directed by Michael Scott, after clearing her work schedule until November 6 to honour her commitment to play the part of Mina alongside Lukas Hassel.
And while Leigh's lovelife appears to be looking up after a turbulent year, there was no sign of the star's rumoured new beau, French-born actor Sebastian Roche of 24 and CSI fame, on her arm.
The pair are said to have grown close in recent weeks, with the pint-sized actress spotted at Dublin airport to collect the star upon his arrival to Ireland two weeks ago.
They went on to enjoy a day's abseiling and mountain climbing, during which they are said to have appeared smitten with one another.
Leigh, who was linked to Hollyoaks actor Emmet Scanlan earlier this year, was remaining determinedly tight-lipped about the possibility of a romance with the divorced 46-year-old this weekend however, focusing instead on making the most of her birthday celebrations.
After throwing a no-expense-spared bash for her 30th birthday at the Morgan hotel last year, the actress went for a scaled-down bash this year, inviting just a handful of close friends to join her for tapas in town before moving on to The Green Hen bar on Exchequer Street for drinks and finally Lillie's Bordello.
Among the guests who joined the star for a night on the tiles was her friend and Red Carpet agent Tara Sinnott, singer Claire Malone, Izabela Chudzicka and her model sister Chloe Arnold and her boyfriend Justin Manville to name but a few.
