Jerry jets in to add glam factor to fashion awards

JUDGE: Jerry Hall will be at Off The Rail fashion awards
Monday November 02 2009
Mick Jagger's gorgeous ex Jerry Hall is jetting in to oversee RTE's inaugural Off the Rails fashion awards, which take place in the RDS Simmonscourt on November 13.
She's well accustomed to the bright lights of Dublin, having made the city her temporary home while co-starring in the Tivoli theatre with David Soul of Starsky and Hutch fame.
And she cited Kildare's Leixlip Castle as one of her favourite places in the world and originally planned to celebrate her 50th birthday there.
But now she'll be casting her discerning eye over the nation's wannabe style queens. She'll be presenting the award for the Best Fashion Designer and the shortlist includees John Rocha and Joanne Hynes alongside Tim Ryan and Pauric Sweeney.
Among those judging the event will be RTE presenters Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, Melanie Morris and Jo Farrelly of Whistles.
However, it's not just the style gurus who will be adding another gong to their mantlepiece. Some 10 RTE personalities, both male and female, have been plucked for awards too. Actresses Victoria Smurfit, Amy Huberman and Charlene McKenna have got the nod, as have Grainne Seoige, Laura Whitmore, Sheana Keane, Miriam O'Callaghan, Kathryn Thomas and Lorraine Keane. When it comes to the lads, Ryan Tubridy is in the running, along with Craig Doyle, Aidan Power and Colin Farrell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Aidan Gillen.
