I've given up on acting, says Holly

FORMER 'Dan & Becs' star Holly White has admitted she was never going to make it as an actress.

The Dubliner, who is best known for her role on the hit RTE comedy, has said that she was too broke to follow her acting dream and after months of "soul searching" in America she has turned her talents to writing a novel.

Speaking to the Diary, Holly (27) says she was unable to rely on an acting career as a source of income and admits she was never going to find something better than Dan & Becs.

"I'm not involved with acting at all anymore. I was really lucky when I was younger because things were just handed to me.

"During Dan & Becs I was in college and still being supported by my family but once I graduated and had to support myself, I stopped. I did go for a few more auditions but nothing felt comfortable to me.

"Nothing was as good as Dan & Becks and then the next big thing just didn't happen, it was never going to come. I love writing and journalism now. I am actually writing a book.

"I did some soul searching when I was living in LA for seven months and when I came back I signed up for a writing class," she explained.

Meanwhile, the future sister-in-law of Andrea Roche is launching a special ladies night at Dandelion night club tonight. Holly will be hosting the new event called Ladies Night Lite which will see guests enjoy a range of Skinny Cocktails, after taking inspiration from the California club scene.

Kicking off at 7pm until 11pm, model DJ Roz Purcell will be taking to the decks, while ladies can enjoy a range of activities including make-up lessons, GHD curling and manicures.
