RTE star Caroline Morahan could soon be winging her way home to Dublin after being approached to appear in a new Irish film.
The Herald can reveal that the former Off the Rails presenter, who moved to the States last May in the hope of forging a career as an actress, is in talks to take on a part in a home-produced blockbuster movie.
The Glasnevin beauty is said to be considering the offer and will do a screen test during a Christmas visit to the Emerald Isle, when she will catch up with family and friends.
Caroline became an aunt for the first time last summer when her sister and PR agent, Olivia Morahan gave birth and explained how she was keen to return home regularly in order to help out with the newest member of the Morahan clan.
"She'll be home around Christmas time," said a source close to the Dublin star. "She has a few projects on the go at the moment, including one here in Ireland.
"Some producers in LA were looking for an Irish actress for a romantic comedy and her name was mentioned, so fingers crossed it will work out.
"If she gets it she will have to move back here for a few months at least; whether she'll go back again or not after that I don't know," they added.
Most recently, Caroline took on the part of Samantha in the short film, Doctor Who, Alternative Empire alongside Julian Bane, who played the Doctor.
Impressive
The media personality also recently impressed producers with a performance in Barry Devlin's new film, A Kiss for Jed Wood, which chronicles the story of an Irish girl who wins a reality show and goes out to America to claim a kiss from the Mr Wood of the title.
The Montrose presenter will star alongside Jayne Wisener, Lee Arenberg, Jay Thomas and Neil Bedsloe, who plays the part of Jed.
The comedy film is in post-production and will go on general release early next year.
Prior to this, Caroline's best known role was as Surfia in the very successful comedy play, I, Keano.
She also famously had a role as teenage minx Barbara Cleary in Fair City when she was 15, before going on to forge a career as a television presenter with RTE.
Before leaving Dublin to try acting, Caroline stepped into the shoes of Lucy Kennedy, to present Podge and Rodge.
