I'm tired of living on my own after marriage split, says Gerry

RTE star Gerry Ryan has admitted he is tired of living alone following his marriage break-up last year.
The 2fm presenter revealed how, at first, he relished his newfound freedom after splitting from his wife Morah in March 2008 -- but the novelty has worn off. After 26 years of marriage, he now dreads returning to an empty house.
"I don't like being alone. I'm a people person. I live by myself so it doesn't get much more bachelor than that. It's not a novelty anymore," Mr Ryan said.
"You know there are things that happen in life, there are choices that are made and you just have to roll with the punches," he added.
The radio motormouth, who is now dating ex-South African ambassador Melanie Verwoerd (42), said he would not wish a family break-up on his worst enemy.
"Separation is so complex that I can't imagine anybody would ever wish what's involved on themselves or anybody else. Obviously there are certain situations that benefit from change. But when you've got families involved you've got to be very careful about how you deal with it," he said.
Gerry added: "Morah and I have been careful and I believe we have been successful to that end."
His new series of Ryan Confidential is under way and he chats with former James Bond actor Roger Moore on Thursday.
However, he was especially proud of his interview with Irish US TV host Conan O'Brien.
"For him to agree to an interview now that he's doing the biggest television show in the world was a really big deal," Gerry said.
break-up
He revealed last year that he went to therapy to help him through his marriage break-up and blamed himself for the split.
"As you know I am separated myself. So I understand the thought process that goes into trying to figure out, 'How did I get to this place?'
"I was married for 26 years and it's not until you get separated that you actually go, 'How did this happen? How am I not at home with my wife and children? How did I get here?'" he repeated, before adding: "And the only thing that you can conclude is that it's something to do with me," he said.
