Blathnaid explained how she caught a recent episode of the RTE show The Savage Eye in which comedian David McSavage poked fun at her.
One of the many personalities McSavage parodies is a shrill-voiced, over-the-top character with full cleavage on display while wearing an auburn wig.
"I was sitting at home with the kids watching it and Dave McSavage was doing a parody of this woman and I was like, 'Is that me? Is that meant to be be?'
"I have to say though, it didn't bother me in the least -- I'm the most slagged person on TV.
"I have met him before and he goes, 'You take all the slagging very well' and I'm like, 'What choice do I have?' You have to laugh at these things and take them in your stride.
"To be honest, I'm more of a Tommy Tiernan fan myself, I think he's a genius and I prefer him to that sort of comedy where you're just slagging people off."
She was also on Brendan O'Connor's show last Saturday. She explained he also had a gentle pop at her for "coming out of retirement" for her new RTE show in Cork.
"I didn't take it seriously at all, he was only messing and I was expecting it from him. He can dish it out but he can also take it," she continued.
This afternoon saw Blathnaid taking over the reigns of her first afternoon chat show since 2009.
And the mum-of-four had no problem at all with the weekly commute down to Cork from her Dublin home.
"I have done a few rehearsals for it. I got the train at 8am and I arrived in two and a half hours later and I won't lie, I was sitting on the train drinking a coffee, I got 10 emails done.
