I'm keeping busy, says Vivienne in first chat since marriage split

TOP model Vivienne Connolly has broken her silence for the first time since splitting with her husband of five years, Mark Dunne, last summer.

The glamorous mum-of-two -- who has been keeping a low profile since her painful marriage break-up hit the headlines -- explained how she had been throwing herself into her work since the shock separation was confirmed earlier this year.

Vivienne (35) last year decided to branch out into acting and has been inundated with project offers since returning home to Dublin, after spending the summer months relaxing at her holiday home in Portugal with her two young children.

Her former partner Mark (36), meanwhile, has been busy helping his millionaire father Ben Dunne to expand his fitness empire, with a new city centre location due to open on Jervis Street today.

"I'm grand, I'm getting on fine," Vivienne told the Diary when asked about the break-up. "I'm just keeping busy with work and keeping the head down.

"I've a few different bits and pieces on the go at the moment. I'm still modelling when I can and I'm pretty busy with the acting. It seems to be all or nothing so I'm just taking on what I can.

"Juggling it all can be tough enough. I'm looking forward to a well-deserved break when it all calms down," she added.

The Compton model is busy rehearsing for a modern-day version of Roman legend Oedipus, in which she has landed the lead female role of Jocasta.

The play is being produced by Company D and will take to the stage at the Boys School of Smock Alley Theatre in Temple Bar from November 9 until Saturday, November 20.

"Johnny Williamson will be playing Oedipus and basically I'm his wife and he finds out she's his mother," Vivienne explained.

"We're rehearsing pretty much all day Sunday and Monday as well as a few hours on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.

"David Scott is directing it and he has also asked me to do another play called Grooming Veronica, in which I play a PR consultant."
