I loved hosting One Night Stand... but it was too risque for RTE - Jen

JENNIFER Maguire has claimed that her dating show was cancelled because it was too risque for RTE.

The former Apprentice star reckons that station bosses at Montrose are a bit too prudish as One Night Stand wasn’t recommissioned after its first series.

“I was told that RTE felt that the show was too risque,” Jennifer told the Herald.

Her claims come as rival station TV3 begins airing a new run of its own dating show, Take Me Out.

The first season of the RTE 2 show saw Jennifer (30) try to match three women in each episode with the perfect man.

A spokeswoman for RTE refused to say why the series wasn’t brought back.

Meanwhile, former UK Apprentice star Jennifer admitted that things are tough behind the scenes on Republic of Telly. She said the production team was small and admitted that RTE does not have the money to bring in more people.

“RTE can't afford to have a massive team to make things a little bit easier for us,” she said.
