Aisling went on maternity leave last year and had baby Patrick who she is 'besotted' with. "My partner Nick and I are mad about him," she told the Diary.
The bubbly presenter returned to TV3 seven months after Patrick was born, to fill in for Sybil Mulcahy on The Morning Show.
And while Claire native Aisling enjoyed The Morning Show, she's glad to be back to her home turf.
"I was covering for Sybil while she was away so I'd bump into the girls in TV3. But it's great to be back in my old role. I feel really happy."
Aisling says it's 'baby central' out in Ballymount studios at the moment. "It's crazy -- Sybil, me, Anna Daly and Xpose producer Debbie O'Donnell is also pregnant. It's baby central -- there's a real boom going on out there."
The mum-of-one said having all the new and future mums on set is both a blessing and a curse.
"At one level it's great because you can chat to one another and get tips and advice," she said.
"But you worry you'll become a 'baby bore' because you're so obsessed and besotted with them. And you're talking about them the whole time. It's important to be independent and your own person."
Having said that, Aisling is looking forward to Patrick's first birthday. "He'll be a year old on December 8, which is exciting. I'm not going to go totally over the top or do anything too silly but I'll make a cake. Hopefully it'll be a nice, calm day for the family."
