THE Script may be taking the music world by storm, but don't expect to see them living the typical celebrity life anytime soon.
The Dublin trio recently reached the top of the charts and are fast tackling the notoriously difficult to crack US market.
But that doesn't mean they have become sucked into the VIP life.
In fact, the band insist that they are just "ordinary blokes" who are eager to keep their feet firmly on the ground.
Guitarist Danny Sheehan said: "We're ordinary blokes who don't want to hang around with a load of d***heads who think they are better than everyone else.
"So we go to pubs with real people and don't pretend to be anything we're not.
"We're happy to admit we make pop music because we know we do it really well."
And they said that they don't mind others thinking they are boring.
They hold an unlikely chart record for their hit Breakeven, which made the number one spot in the adult contemporary chart in the US.
"We hold the record for the longest-climbing single in any US chart. We stole it from Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars," singer Danny O'Donoghue said.
"Mind you, I'm not sure 'slowest climber' is much of an accolade."
In spite of their stellar success, the boys have been praised for their down-to-earth attitudes.
And Today Show host Matt Lauer said how refreshing it was to see a young band who didn't let fame get to their head when they appeared on his show.
They all took to the stage of the David Letterman Show last month followed by another high-profile performance on The Today Show, both of which have audiences of millions.
During their appearance on the morning show, where they sang their hit single For the First Time, Lauer said: "We love having you here because we feel as if we've been watching you from the beginning. What a year."
