Guess who? Jedward try out their new look

DUBLIN shoppers were duped by pop twins Jedward as they abandoned their quiffs for unrecognisable greying curls.

John and Edward Grimes (18) jumped at the chance to go undercover for one afternoon in the city centre and dress as aging pensioners.

The pair were given heavy latex masks, grey wigs and scruffy clothes to get into their characters for the RTE show, Anonymous.

Jedward were unrecognisable as a frail old couple strolling through St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre yesterday afternoon.

Comedian and presenter of the programme, Jason Byrne, used hidden microphones to give Jedward tasks.

The hyper teens struggled to tone down their antics for a number of hours for the filming of the show.

And Byrne later revealed on his Twitter page that the ageing couple were in fact the former X Factor contestants.

"To all the people in Stephens Green shopping centre yesterday, yes that was Jedward dressed up as an old couple," he said. "This is Jedward on anonymous as u never seen them, and lads were great craic.

"The Jedward episode will be on in the new year, so keep a OMG look out for them."

Later, Jedward posted their thanks on the comedian's website.

"Thanks for yesterday on anonymous, a very funny ep," they wrote. "Missed you on the plane this morning."

The Lucan twins have just returned from a trip to America, where they were involved in a number of photo shoots and were in discussions about a US version of their TV series Let Loose.

"LA is really cool. I can see why so many stars live here," Edward said. "We wanted to meet Britney, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus walking down the street."

This year's RTE Anonymous series also features former Miss World Rosanna Davison, who put on a frumpy disguise.
