Gary set to tackle a new relationship
FORMER rugby player Gary Lavin appears to be moving on following the break-up of his eight-year romance with Assets beauty Roberta Rowat -- after being linked to aspiring singer Rachael Gilmore Murphy.
The Diary can reveal how Gary has been spending plenty of time with the brunette beauty in recent weeks after he and South African born Roberta decided to go their separate ways over two months ago.
Gary was signed to Leinster rugby club, but was forced to quit his professional career after just seven months on the pitch, when he suffered a serious knee injury.
He is the son of ex-model Jackie Lavin, Bill Cullen's long-term partner. Socialite Rachael is well known for her vocal talents. She tried out for Louis Walsh and Kian Egan's new girlband Wonderland, but failed to make it into the final line-up.
She and Gary have been spotted on the town together in recent weeks, but are said to be keen to take things slowly.
Roberta moved to New York earlier this month, and plans to focus on her modelling career for three months before planning her next move.
The Assets model is said to have been the one to end the relationship, as she felt her and Gary's lives were moving in different directions.
