Gabriel Byrne was a loser at the awards — but he’s a winner in the love stakes, arriving at the awards last night with his beautiful girlfriend Anna George on his arm.
The Law and Order actress was by Gabriel’s side as he was nominated for Best Actor in the critically acclaimed In Treatment.
But there was disappointment on the night for the Dubliner as Bryan Cranston got the gong for his role in Breaking Bad.
However, the Irish thespian couldn't have been too down in the dumps having spent the evening in the company of the gorgeous Anna who has appeared in a string of US hits including Sex and the City and The Jury.
She is also due to appear in the upcoming blockbuster The Lovely Bones based on the internationally best selling novel.
Earlier this year Gabriel just missed out on the Best Actor award at the Irish Film and Television Awards for his role in the feature film Jindabyne.
And British TV stars had a disappointing night at the 60th annual Emmy awards today.
Tom Wilkinson and Eileen Atkins were honoured for their supporting roles.
But many others, including comedian Ricky Gervais and Judi Dench, were left empty-|handed at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Won
Wilkinson, 59, won best supporting actor in a mini-series or movie for his role as Benjamin Franklin in the presidential mini-series John Adams.
And Dame Eileen won the award for best supporting actress for her portrayal of Deborah Jenkins in the costume drama Cranford.
The 74-year-old actress beat fellow Briton Ashley Jenson, 39, who was nominated for her role as Maggie Jacobs in Ricky Gervais's Extras: The Extra Special Series Finale.
Dame Eileen's co-star Dame Judi Dench was put forward as outstanding lead actress in a mini series or movie for her role as Matty Jenkins in Cranford, but lost to Laura Linney for John Adams.
