DJ Ray turns down Dubai gig to build his radio career here

FORMER Big Brother star Ray Shah has turned down an offer to move to Dubai in order to work on his presenting career.

The popular DJ spent New Year's Eve at a lavish party in Fujairah and was offered a lucrative gig DJing at a string of top class events this year.

But the star turned down the move so he can build a sustainable career in Dublin.

Speaking to the Diary, Ray said his main focus now is working on his first solo radio show on Classic Hits 4FM.

"A guy I knew who worked in Dublin rang me three days before Christmas and asked me to do a gig in Dubai for New Year's Eve.

"The company over there want me to come back and gig again.

"They were trying to convince me to move over but I'm just starting my new show Club Classics, and I've already said I'm going to give that my all," he said.

But the former TV3 star is starting to make his own music and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of David Guetta, who also started out as a radio DJ.
