CHAMPION golfer Darren Clarke was left in the shade by his strapping son as he was honoured with an OBE yesterday.
His 13-year-old elder boy Tyrone now towers over the 44-year-old.
It was a family affair at Buckingham Palace as Clarke collected the honour from Queen Elizabeth.
Darren's second wife, model boss Alison, and his other son Conor (11) were also beaming at the ceremony.
Darren married former Miss Northern Ireland Alison Campbell (47) in April after his first wife Heather lost her long battle with cancer in 2006.
Take That star and X Factor judge Gary Barlow was also honoured with an OBE at yesterday's ceremony.
