Hollywood hunk Colin Farrell will spend his first Christmas with his new baby at home in Ireland, the Herald can exclusively reveal.

The award-winning actor (33) will be giving his close-knit Dublin family the perfect gift this Yuletide by bringing back his baby son Henry Tadeusz Farrell to meet them all.

A source close to the former hellraiser has confirmed how the actor will be jetting home with his girlfriend Alicja Bachleda (26) and their tiny tot on Christmas Eve.

"They wanted to wait until Henry was a bit older and up for such a long flight home, and Colin's really looking forward to showing him off to everyone," said an insider.

"A few of his family members, like his sister Claudine, have already made it over to LA to see the baby, but not everyone has gotten the chance.

"So this will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to celebrate the new arrival.

"Colin's a real family-orientated guy and nearly always makes it back for Christmas anyway, no matter how busy he is with his filming schedule, but this year it will be extra-special thanks to his new baby."

His Polish girlfriend gave birth to their first baby on October 7, but managed to keep the happy news under wraps from the media for nearly a week before the actress's brother spilled the beans.

But that is hardly a surprise, given the privacy-conscious star only confirmed that his other half was pregnant the previous month while at the Toronto Film Festival.

He already has a son, James (6) -- with former model Kim Bordenave -- who he credits with "saving his life", thanks to his positive influence on Farrell's life.

Now he's enjoying his time as a second-time dad after falling for Alicja.

The pair met in Ireland while filming Neil Jordan's new flick Ondine in Cork and the couple had an instant chemistry.

Meanwhile, the Irish star is said to be furious after a banned sex tape showing him romping with a Playboy model was sent to his girlfriend's family.

Alicja's traditional Polish family anonymously received a copy of the graphic footage showing him romping with model Nicole Narain, which was the subject of a successful injunction in 2005.

"Colin hoped he'd seen the last of the tape," the source said. "He is desperate to find out who sent it.

"Alicja's parents met Colin and liked him a lot. But they are Catholic and very old fashioned."

Farrell started dating Alicja at the end of last year.

The new flick sees him playing the part of an Irish fisherman who falls in love with a mermaid, played by the Polish actress.

The couple soon got serious and, after discovering her pregnancy, she moved into his €2.9m Hollywood Hills home.
