The news comes after the club's chairman, Dai Yongge, said Lampard would join them as their new captain in January, when his existing contract expires.
However, the Herald has learned that the one thing holding Lampard back could be his Northern Irish fiancee. Sources say a move could end her TV career.
The Dancing On Ice presenter has had to look at new projects since her ITV show Daybreak was axed and is only finding her feet again.
Given that she's based full-time in Britain, any move to the Far East would spell disaster for the sultry beauty, who's expected to marry the soccer star in Ireland.
"They only got engaged last year and are still very much in the honeymoon phase of their relationship," said a source.
"Whatever the future holds for Frank, Christine is very much a part of it and they won't let their careers separate them over long periods of time. It's going to be a tough decision for Frank to make."
The couple have been engaged since June 2011 after Frank, who has two children with former wife Elen Rivas, popped the question.
The pair have not yet set a date for their wedding -- Christine says she has no "concrete plans" for her day.
