Brian and Pippa tipped for big future on UK TV
THEY have been hailed as the "Irish answer to Richard and Judy" but a leading UK agent believes Brian and Pippa Ormond could be the next big Irish TV export to Britain.
The couple made TV history in Ireland over the weekend when they became the first Irish husband-and-wife team to host a TV show.
Last night, RTE revealed that TV figures were up for Saturday night's National Lottery Big Money Game, with an average of 360,000 tuning in and station chiefs praising Pippa for her screen work. However, also impressed is the Ormond's UK-based agent Seamus Lyte.
He believes the couple could end up with TV work across the water on the back of their RTE debut.
"I've been talking to various networks over here about Brian but I think this could take him and Pippa towards even more exciting projects," Mr Lyte told the Herald.
And that could include work in the US with Mr Lyte, a consultant for the E! TV Networks, looking after talent in both the UK and US.
It was pure chance that brought the married couple together on TV after Brian's regular Lottery co-host Sinead Kennedy pulled out to attend the wedding of a close friend.
But Kennedy will resume co-presenting with Brian till the show ends its summer run later this month.
Saturday night was also Brian's 27th birthday with himself and Pippa celebrating late into the night with friends at 'House' nightclub on Dublin's Leeson Street.
