Big fashion names step out for Oasis's Christmas collection

SOME of the biggest names in the fashion industry will step out to the launch of Oasis's Christmas collection when the Stephen's Green based store hosts a VIP event.

The event will also mark the launch of the new Xpose/Oasis fashion bus, where fashion make-overs, style advice and a variety of pampering techniques will be available.

The style extravaganza will take place this Thursday, from 9am until 12pm and is by invitation only.



  • designer Peter O'Brien will be at Arnotts on Henry Street tomorrow to give a preview of his first collection for the store.

Invitees will have the opportunity to be the first to buy from the Style Wars judge. The event will kick off at 7.30pm and will be sponsored by Jacobs Creek.



  • MUSIC lovers will be out in force this Wednesday when Republic of Loose hold a release party for their new album Bounce At The Devil.

The invitation-only event will take place at the Workman's Club in the city centre from 7pm and guests can look forward to a performance from the group and other special guests. Last week saw the group stream a live concert from the O2, with fans from around the world tuning in to catch a sneak preview of the latest offerings.



  • IF you fancy spooking yourself out this Halloween sign up to walk among the ghostly ghouls of the Wicklow Glen on Saturday, October 23 with Barnardos Halloween Full Moon Trek. Trekkers will tackle one of Leinster's highest peaks, Lugnaquillia, while also raising money for the children's charity.

To take part, participants are asked to raise €175; a deposit of €25 can be made by registering online on www.barnardos.ie.



  • FASHIONISTAS can check out the latest collection by Alessi next Thursday morning when a press preview takes place at Brown Thomas in Dublin. It will showcase pieces by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Andrea Branzi, Alan Chan, Mario Trimarchi, Marcel Wanders and Alessandro Mendini.
