BBC job too good to turn down for Laura

DUBLIN'S SOCIALITES will be seeing less of Laura Toogood -- who's moving to London to take a research job at the BBC.

The Bath beauty told the Diary how she returned to her UK roots earlier this summer and is due to take up her new position as a research assistant for Britain's state broadcaster in September.

Laura (25), who shot to prominence after stepping out on the arm of RTE star Ryan Tubridy almost two years ago, explained how she now plans to leave her family's impressive mansion in Bath and move to London next month.

"I'm absolutely thrilled. I had applied for the position a few months ago but I just heard back this week to say I had got it," she explained.

"I'm going to be working for the BBC Factual department. It's going to involve doing research for documentaries which will suit me very well because I'm quite academically minded.

"It's working well with my PhD, which I'm just coming to the end of now. I'm hoping to have it submitted or at least the final draft submitted by then.

"I will be sad to leave Ireland permanently but this opportunity doesn't come around often so I have to jump at it while I can," she added.

The blonde model, who is a close pal of former Miss World Rosanna Davison, will be back on Irish shores next week when she attends Ladies' Day at the Galway Races with her mother, Sarah.
