BB Anna's celeb party for 40th birthday

FORMER Big Brother star and Herald columnist Anna Nolan celebrated her 40th birthday in style when she hosted a lunch for friends and family.

The Diary can reveal she was joined by a host of big names when she stepped out to the upmarket Pig's Ear restaurant on Nassau Street.

The city-centre eatery was chosen specially by Anna, given that former Afternoon Show chef Stephen McAllister is the proprietor.

Among the big names who joined Anna on Saturday was former Afternoon Show co-star Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh and former showbiz correspondent on the show Trevor Keegan.

Fellow Afternoon Show presenter Sheana Keane was noticeably absent, however.

"It was a great success and a very relaxed and informal celebration with just Anna's closest friends and family there," said a party guest.

"The celebrations continued further afield. It turned into a bit of an all-day thing so there were quite a few sore heads the following day.

"Some of the Afternoon Show team were there that Anna has stayed in touch with and also some friends from the UK television industry."

Anna's partner of several years, Emmy award-winning Irish director Dearbhla Walsh, was also at the party.
