Amanda's delighted as rugby star tackles that big question ...
I DO: Presenter is now busy planning her wedding day
TV beauty Amanda Byram is officially off the market - after her long-term boyfriend Craig McMullen popped the question last week.
The Herald can confirm that the Castleknock model-turned-presenter accepted her hunky sportsman's hand in marriage on the spot, when he surprised her by going down on one knee in a romantic proposal last Monday, October 11.
The bubbly beauty (36) was due to jet out to Argentina - where she is currently shooting BBC gameshow series Total Wipeout - just hours later.
The couple have been dating for two-and-a-half years now and those close to Amanda have revealed how she was completely stunned by her other half's romantic gesture.
"She's absolutely over the moon and has already begun discussing possible wedding venues," said a pal.
"They're hoping to plan the wedding for next summer so there's no time to delay, particularly with Amanda away for the next few months.
"Craig popped the question just a few hours before she was due to take off for Argentina so she hasn't had a chance to celebrate with family or friends yet."
They added: "They're planning to have a belated party to celebrate their engagement when she gets home before Christmas, as it will also coincide with her 37th birthday."
A representative from Amanda's Dublin-based model agency 1st Option confirmed the good news when contacted by the Herald, but declined to make any comment on their client's personal life.
Smitten Amanda and her other half have chosen London as their full-time base and recently carried out an extensive renovation on their luxurious apartment based in the city centre.
The former Swan presenter had been living in LA prior to this and admits that meeting Craig was part of her reason for returning to this side of the world.
The former Leicester rugby player originally hails from Sydney, Australia, and has been concentrating on managing and coaching teams after being struck by injury in recent years.
Amanda, who used to date top comedian Patrick Kielty and still remains on good terms with him, was first introduced to her future hubby at her best friend's wedding in the summer of 2008.
"She had actually been trying to set us up for six years," Amanda explained.
"He was in a neck brace when I met him and if I fell in love with him wearing that, I'm sure it's real love."
It's been a busy few weeks for the brunette beauty, who completed the challenge of a lifetime last month when she joined fellow celebs Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton, Alexandra Burke and Gabriella Cilmi for a gruelling charity climb of Machu Picchu in Peru.
Viewers at home will be able to keep up to date with the group's adventures by tuning into ITV2 next Sunday, October 25 ,for the first of a two part documentary series following their journey.
