Simon (24) took to Twitter during the afternoon to share a snap with fans.

"What a day in dingle, too proud of my big sis and my new bro," he wrote online.

Wicklow-born Darragh proposed to social worker Jessika last year.

The brave musician surprised her and got down on bended knee in front of hundreds of people in the Academy in Dublin, where his band were playing a sold-out gig.

His band mates Dan and Barry Murphy, Darragh Griffin and Dermot Sheedy took a pause during their set so Darragh could ask his girlfriend, who previously managed Hermitage Green, to marry him and the entire scene was captured on YouTube.

The happy couple, who lived in Limerick for several years before settling in Killaloe, Co Clare, have been together for more than a decade.

The pair met on an athletics trip overseas.
