Shamrocks win fifth All-Ireland title
Wednesday March 17 2010
Ballyhale Shamrocks are the new All-Ireland Club hurling champions, following their 1-19 to 0-17 win over reigning champions Portumna at Croke Park.
The Galway men, seeking a third successive title, trailed by 0-11 to 0-5 at half-time, with Henry Shefflin hitting five points for the Kilkenny champions.
David Hoyne got in for a 46th minute goal to push Shamrocks closer to a record fifth title, and a late flurry of points from Joe Canning, who finished with 0-12, could not rescue Portumna.
