Former EU Commissioner to join DCC board.

The former EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection David Byrne has been named as deputy chairman and senior independent director of DCC with affect from Jan. 1st.
Mr. Byrne who is chairman of the advisory committee to the National Treasury Management Agency is also a non executive director of Kingspan and a member of a number of other boards.
The business support services group has also announced that Kevin Melia the former non executive chairman of Iona Technologies will join the board as a non-executive director and Donal Murphy who is currently the group's head of I.T will become an executive director.
Meanwhile Paddy Gallagher and Tony Barry are to retire from their the positions as non-executive directors with DCC.
